How can we use Pinterest for public relations strategies?

Monday, September 24th, 2012

Pinterest is the latest trend in social media – the chic new visually stimulating social sharing site is quickly joining the likes of Facebook and Twitter and it looks like it could be – or already is – the next big thing in social media.

But what is Pinterest? Pinterest is a pin-board-style social photo sharing website that allows users to create and manage theme-based image collections such as events, interests and hobbies. Users can browse other pin boards for inspiration, “re-pin” images of their own collections, or “like” photos.

Brookline is currently helping many of our clients managing their Pinterest accounts. Pinterest is not necessarily a strategy itself, but it should be used as part of a larger communications strategy. There are clever strategies you can use to build targeted traffic for Pinterest.

1. It’s all about visuals

As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, and a sequence of pictures can create millions of stories.

2. Contests

Pinterest is a great platform to hold contests to spread the word about your products and services. ?Implement innovative contest ideas, ask customers to re-pin, or participate on specific boards.

3. Events

If you have an event or you are attending a trade show or conference, it’s a good idea to share the pictures and videos on your Pinterest board.

4. Industry related ideas

Pin interesting things happening in your industry, whether it is an event, an interesting article or blog. This allows you to keep up on trends, statistics, and resources.

5. Contribute to other boards

Pinterest is a platform where you can contribute to other boards and earn recognition. If you contribute, like and share other Pinterest users’ boards, it will engage people to like your boards and pins in return.

The Pinterest community is currently built on users finding interesting images and videos to share with their friends. The breadth of possibilities for Pinterest have barely touched the surface, so now is the time to get in on the action. Be creative, be ground-breaking, and see how you can utilize the service to help your business flourish.

‘THE RIVER’ Redefines Luxury Living in Calgary

Thursday, September 6th, 2012

In a city that is thirsty for high-end real estate and searching for the next great development THE RIVER, Calgary’s newest luxury residence, could not come soon enough! Brookline has happily taken on the task of helping to profile the record-breaking development (which recently broke city records with the sale of its $8.99 million penthouse) and support all their exciting upcoming initiatives. The recent ground breaking marked a giant step for a project that we believe is redefining luxury condo living and architectural excellence.

What sets THE RIVER apart are some of the unqiue ammenties it will soon offer including a full-time concierge/security, private gym, yoga studio, massage room, gourmet chef’s kitchen, executive boardroom, guest suite, car wash/pet grooming facilities and spacious outdoor living areas. If that wasn’t enough, the riverfront properties range from 1,400 square feet to 5,626 square feet and are situated on the banks of the Elbow River – some of Calgary’s most sought after real estate.

We are excited for the completion of the development and look forward to sharing upcoming announcements in the near future!
